Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer told reporters that first-round running back Travis Etienne will take all of his minicamp reps at wide receiver, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

"Worst case scenario, you have a running back that’s elite with receiver skills," Meyer said.

The rookie tailback finds himself in a competition for carries among a group of runners headlined by James Robinson, who rushed for 1,000 as an undrafted rookie in 2020. Jacksonville also signed veteran Carlos Hyde this offseason.

Etienne, alongside first overall selection Trevor Lawrence, are expected to be key figures in a young Jaguars offense.
