Troy’s quarterback battle got a little more interesting on Thursday, as Jarret Doege joined the Trojans’ program as a transfer.

Doege (pronounced “DOE-ghee”) spent the last three seasons at West Virginia, where he played in a total of 27 games and passed for 6,453 yards and 40 touchdowns with 19 interceptions. He enrolled at Western Kentucky this spring, but left the Hilltoppers’ team and re-entered the transfer portal earlier this week.

The 6-foot-2, 208-pound Doege was added to Troy’s online roster on Thursday. A Troy spokesman confirmed he is eligible to play for the Trojans this season.
