Portland Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu left Vivint Smart Home Arena on Wednesday night with the wrong kind of boot on his right foot. Aminu suffered a right ankle sprain with 2:13 left in the fourth quarter of Portland's overtime loss to the Utah Jazz. He rolled his ankle while battling for a rebound and limped to the bench on the next defensive possession. X-Rays taken at the arena on Wednesday night came back negative and before Aminu left for the team plane and a flight back to Portland he was fitted for a walking boot in the locker room. He showed up to the arena more than three hours earlier wearing black leather boots, but as he limped out of the building he held his right boot in his hand. There is no official timetable for when Aminu might be able to return to action, but as he hobbled around the visiting locker room on Wednesday night he didn't have the look of a player that would be available for the Blazers next game on Thursday evening against the Los Angeles Lakers in Portland.
