News emerged yesterday courtesy of The Sun that Manchester City were keen to sign Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks, with a £40 million bid in the offing.
The report also suggests that boss Jose Mourinho could be willing to sell the 24-year-old, despite him only signing a five-year contract last summer.
If the Portuguese boss is adamant that he wants to sell then he could work the departure in his favour and ask for a player from City as part of the deal.
The Telegraph have previously linked Tottenham with a move for Citizens defender John Stones and signing him in a deal plus cash for Winks could be ideal.
Some Spurs fans wouldn’t perhaps be overly fussed on Stones arriving at the club but without the huge outlay of a transfer fee, it could be more palatable.
