It is understood Atlético Madrid would like to sign Soldado on loan for the season, with a view to a permanent transfer. But such a move is not ideal for Spurs, who would need to buy a replacement for the forthcoming campaign. Soldado suffered a miserable first season in England, scoring just six Premier League goals that largely came from the penalty spot.
