Tottenham are worried major transfer target Adrien Rabiot will be snatched from their grasp by either Barcelona or Liverpool in a summer dogfight.

Spurs, who hadn’t made any signings in the last two transfer windows, were heavily into a deal to land the Paris Saint-Germain star in a £20million move. But before his transfer to the Premier League could be sealed, Rabiot’s father Michel died a few days before the January window closed.

The family decided to put business on hold as a mark of respect for him, with the midfielder's mum and agent, Veronique, declaring that nothing would be done until the summer.
