The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their new head coach Lovie Smith have hired former Miami Dolphins head coach and New York Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, according to Pro Football Talk. Sparano is coming in to work under the Buccaneers' new head coach, although Sparano's role is currently unclear. Last season, Sparano worked with the Oakland Raiders under Dennis Allen as an assistant head coach. However, he decided that the time was right to leave after Raiders owner Mark Davis wouldn't give out more than a one-year deal to Sparano.
