Tony Pulis will sit down with Jonny Evans next week to discuss a possible new contract for the coveted West Bromwich Albion centre-back. Evans was the subject of intense transfer interest with Manchester City, Arsenal and Leicester City all keen. He has another two years left on his current deal, but Pulis hopes to pin Evans down to a longer contract in the hope it might deter any future approaches for his star defender. “I think everybody at the football club would like to see him tied down,” Pulis said. “I hope so. It will be interesting to see what Jonny wants to do. “Next week will be a week where we can sit down and talk about what we want to do.” Pulis has dismissed reports Evans completed a medical to facilitate a deadline day move away from West Brom.
