San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker says that superstar forward Kawhi Leonard is “a couple of weeks away” from returning from a quad injury that has sidelined him through the first month-and-a-half of the season, according to Tom Orsborn of The San Antonio Express-News. “He was looking good the last two or three practices he had with me,” said Parker. Parker then jokingly said that Leonard had workouts with “the old guys…Timmy [Duncan], Matt Bonner…the old, old guys.” Parker himself just returned from his own quad injury that had kept him out since May. This news comes a day after a source close to the Spurs said that the team was “perplexed” at how long Leonard’s issue has taken to heal. Also, despite what Parker said, San Antonio has still not issued any sort of timetable for Leonard’s return.
