Alec Ogletree wore the "C" on his chest because he was one of the leaders of the Los Angeles Rams until Wednesday evening when the team shipped him and a 2019 seventh-round draft pick out to the New York Giants in exchange for fourth and sixth-round 2018 draft picks. Shortly after the trade was unofficially announced and widely spread on social media, Ogletree's former teammate Todd Gurley took to Twitter to express his displeasure with the Rams' decision to trade one of their defensive leaders. New Giants defensive coordinator James Bettcher will stress speed and a new breed of linebacker in what has been described as a hybrid defense featuring both 3-4 and 4-3 fronts that he is bringing to New York. Ogletree is the first player that Bettcher and Giants management has deemed to be a perfect fit for the new scheme.
