Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew had a strong blocking game last week. Today he could be poised for a strong receiving game against the Arizona Cardinals. St. Louis Rams tight end Jared Cook torched the Cardinals last week with seven catches for 141 yards and two touchdowns and Arizona coach Bruce Arians specifically mentioned Pettigrew as one of the Lions’ weapons he expects to have to stop. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford targeted his tight ends seven times against the Minnesota Vikings. Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan likes to deploy his tight ends and with Pettigrew Tony Scheffler and Joe Fauria at his disposal the arsenal is deep.
