Anibal Sanchez is set to start the series finale against the Red Sox on Sunday night, a nationally televised game on ESPN. In his first start since April 26 — he went just 2.2 innings because of a blister on his right hand, which landed him on the disabled list — Sanchez will be looking to work his way back into starting form, but manager Brad Ausmus will be keeping an eye on Sanchez’ progress. “We have to watch his pitch count, for sure,” Ausmus said. “We have to watch it and make sure it doesn’t get over a certain amount.” With only five starts this season — mostly due to the injury plus early rainouts and team days off — Sanchez almost is getting a fresh start to the season.
