The Tigers' new double-play combo won't need any introductions.

After adding Jordy Mercer to play shortstop over the winter, Detroit on Wednesday agreed to a one-year deal with second baseman Josh Harrison, The Athletic first reported.

Harrison and Mercer played side-by-side in Pittsburgh most of the last seven seasons, and their partnership dates to 2009 at Class A Lynchburg, when Harrison joined the Pirates organization in a midseason trade with the Cubs.
