Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler was fined $10,000 for his recent comments about umpire Angel Hernandez, reports ESPN’s Buster Olney. Kinsler told media on Friday that he was fined, but didn’t disclose details. He did stand behind his comments, though, saying, “I just speak the truth and whatever happens, happens.” The 12-year MLB veteran made the initial comments about Hernandez after being ejected by the umpire in a game last Monday. “It has to do with changing the game. He’s changing the game. He needs to find another job, he really does,” Kinsler said. “He just needs to go away.”
