Detroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire announced Saturday that right-handed pitcher Michael Fulmer has been pushed back two days due to general soreness in the back of his right elbow. Gardenhire said the soreness is not related to the ulnar transposition surgery from last summer. Fulmer was scheduled to start Sunday when the Tigers visit the Mets in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Gardenhire didn’t immediately know who would make the start instead. “Back of the elbow, nowhere near the surgical stuff,” Gardenhire said in his office at Joker Marchant Stadium on Saturday morning. “But it’s just one of those times of the year, after he’s been throwing bullpens and the whole package, we’re just going to do it. Give him time to recoup and let everything get its strength back.
