If there's one thing Dustin Pedroia hates, it's not playing. If there's another thing he hates, it's talking about not playing. Fortunately for Pedroia, he shouldn't have to deal with either problem for much longer. The second baseman took a regular turn in the batting cage yesterday and then nearly entered the game after Mike Aviles took a hard grounder off the hand in the fourth. Aviles was able to stay in the game, which meant Pedroia could stay on the bench, but after the 7-4 victory over the Blue Jays, he pronounced himself ready to go. Barring a change of heart by the team, he'll get today off and then return to the starting lineup on Tuesday. "I'm ready to go," Pedroia said. "They're making me wait until after (tomorrow's) off day. That's the plan, but if an emergency happens, I'll be ready."
Thumb's up for Dustin Pedroia return to field
