Thomas Meunier has confirmed Paris Saint-Germain rejected a deadline-day transfer offer from Chelsea for his services. Antonio Conte endured a frustrating summer transfer window despite bringing in a number of big-money signings such as Alvaro Morata, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Antonio Rudiger. The Italian coach was thwarted in the pursuit of his first-choice option for the right flank - Juventus wing-back Alex Sandro - and ended up signing Davide Zappacosta from Torino minutes before the transfer window slammed shut. Belgium international Meunier joined PSG in the summer of 2016, but Unai Emery added Brazil legend Dani Alves to his squad for the 2017-18 season to bolster the French club's chances of finally winning the Champions League.
