It has now been 18 days since the NHL decided to hit the pause button on the 2019-20 season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and players, coaches, team personnel and fans throughout the hockey world have been self-quarantining and social distancing -- well, throughout most of the hockey world, but more on that in a bit.

While there is no official timeline for when the NHL will resume play -- or a decision on whether the rest of the regular-season games will be played or we'll skip right to the Stanley Cup playoffs -- there have been significant developments during the past seven days.
