Doug Weight has lost it. The Islanders coach fumed following his team’s 4-3 loss to the Canucks Monday night, in which the Islanders lost their seventh straight game by way of Brendan Leipsic’s second goal of the game at 2:47 in overtime. “It’s f–king getting old,” Weight said, according to The Athletic’s Arthur Staple. “Same story.” Josh Bailey, John Tavares and Jordan Eberle scored for the Islanders, who are five points behind Columbus for the second wild card in the Eastern Conference playoffs. “It’s extremely, extremely frustrating,” Anders Lee said. “It doesn’t sit well. It [expletive].’’ Rookie Mathew Barzal, one of the bright spots to another dreadful Islanders season, had two assists Monday to give him 69 points this season, leading all rookies. Fellow Calder Trophy contender Brock Boeser was injured in the final seconds of regulation and helped to the locker room. He fell into the boards in front of the Canucks bench and lay on the ice for several minutes before getting up.
