Former Iowa running back Derrick Mitchell announced via social media Saturday that he is transferring to Texas Tech after graduating this semester. As a grad transfer, the 6-foot-1, 230 pounder will be eligible to play for the Red Raiders in the fall. Mitchell tallied 27 carries for 174 yards and three touchdowns plus 21 receptions for 165 yards in his career at Iowa. Mitchell is the third grad transfer to choose Texas Tech this offseason as offensive linemen Dwayne Johnson and Jujuan Dulaney from Nebraska and Maryland, respectively, both committed to the Red Raiders recently.
