Catcher A.J. Pierzynski is on track to return to the active roster from a strained oblique muscle Tuesday, the first day he is eligible. Pierzynski took batting practice on the field Thursday for the first time since going on the DL on May 10, retroactive to May 6. The tentative schedule is for him to rehab Sunday and possibly Monday and to be activated for Tuesday’s game with Oakland. Typically the Rangers have a player take a day off between a rehab assignment and being activated, but Washington said that might not be the route the team goes.
