Catcher Jose Felix, of the Texas Rangers’ organization, deserves a restful weekend. Felix went the distance for Mexico as it defeated the Dominican Republic, 4-3 in 18 innings, in the title game of the Caribbean Series. The game ended early Friday morning in Hermosillo, Mexico. Felix went 0-for-7, but he made a mark on the game by throwing out two of the three runners who tried to steal on him. That included catching Luis Jimenez, of the Los Angeles Angels’ organization, as he tried to steal third with one out in the eighth inning. After that, the Dominican stopped running. Felix, 24, spent last season with Double-A Frisco. He will be a non-roster player in the Rangers’ major-league spring-training camp. Mexico won on a homer by Doug Clark, a 36-year-old baseball vagabond who has 11 career major-league at-bats.
