The Texans’ offensive linemen had already shown its solidarity with David Quessenberry by dedicating the season to the second-year tackle as he battles lymphoma. But Saturday morning the entire organization got in line behind the linemen in support of a young man who had viable aspirations to be a starter this season, yet now finds himself in a far more critical battle. Owner Bob McNair came out wearing a “Texans for DQ” T-shirt. So did head coach Bill O’Brien and his assistants. Ditto Dr. Walt Lowe, the team orthopedist, and the media-relations staff. To a man – and woman – the Texans aren’t just talking the talk about being good teammates. They’re walking the walk for Quessenberry, showing him lots of love and trying to raise $100,000 to donate in his name to the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
Texans stand behind Quessenberry; hope to raise $100,000 for lymphoma
