If everything goes according to plan Texans tight end Owen Daniels will return to the active roster for a nationally televised game Dec. 5 at Jacksonville. Because he was placed on injured reserve with the designation to return he must miss a minimum of eight weeks. Daniels suffered a fractured fibula just below the knee in his right leg in Sunday’s loss at San Francisco. “It could be worse” Daniels said Wednesday. “I’ll do everything I can to be ready for the end of the season. “Whenever you’re injured it’s not ideal but I think (it’s) the best thing to do for myself and the team bringing an extra body (tight end Jake Byrne) in and giving me the right amount of time to heal and not rush anything. I’ll be around the guys doing what I can to help out getting healthy and I’ll have those fresh legs for the end of the season.” Daniels has 24 catches for 252 yards and three touchdowns — the same number of TDs as his replacement in the starting lineup Garrett Graham. Rookie Ryan Griffin moves up a spot. Byrne who was with the Texans in camp and preseason was signed off San Diego’s practice squad.
