Adam Schefter reports that the Texans have officially released LB Brian Cushing on Tuesday. John McClain first reported that Houston had informed Cushing that he’ll be released sometime before the league year begins March 14. Cushing had come as a potential cap casualty in recent years, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise. There were a number of factors working against Cushing including his cap figure, recent injuries and suspensions along with the emergence of Zach Cunningham and Dylan Cole.
