The Titans and first-round draft pick Taylor Lewan are making steady progress toward a contract and there is optimism a deal will be in place prior to training camp, according to sources familiar with the situation. Players report for camp on July 25 and hit the field on July 26. The tackle from Michigan is one of just two remaining unsigned draft picks from this year. The other is Browns cornerback Justin Gilbert. Lewan, the 11th overall selection, has more on his plate than the potential for missed practice time. Thursday he is due in district court in Ann Arbor, Mich., where he's facing three misdemeanor charges -- one count of aggravated assault, two counts of assault and battery -- stemming from a Dec. 1, 2013 incident. Lewan has said repeatedly he was breaking up a fight the night he was charged. His ex-girlfriend and the alleged victim say otherwise.
