Stoke City remain in limbo in their pursuit of Fabian Delph as the former England midfielder still has to sort out contractual issues at Manchester City before they will release him. That has left Stoke sizing up other midfield possibilities in case Delph fails to tie up any loose ends over his lucrative contract at the Etihad. Mark Hughes has confirmed Stoke have been in talks about bringing in the 27-year-old, at least on a long-term loan, while he has a reported price tag of £12m for any permanent offer.
