Nathan Jones has been confirmed as Stoke City’s new boss.

Stoke moved for the Luton Town boss on Tuesday after sacking Gary Rowett and quickly agreed a compensation package with the League One side.

Jones has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal to take over at the bet365 Stadium.

Jones, 45, will be seen by many as a surprise appointment, but the Welshman caught Stoke’s eye because of the way he has transformed Luton during his three years in charge.

He saved them from relegation from League Town when he took over in January 2016.
