The NFL has fined Pittsburgh Steelers center Cody Wallace $17,875 for two infractions, including $7,875 for striking Dolphins defensive tackle Randy Starks in the groin, during last weekend's 34-28 loss to Miami. Wallace later claimed he was trying to reach for the football when he jammed his left hand under the rear end of a face-down Starks, who had recovered a Ben Roethlisberger fumble. TV replays appeared to tell a different story. "I heard of stuff like that happening. It's the first time it happened to me," Starks said Tuesday. "If I knew exactly who it was at the time, I probably would have got thrown out." Wallace, a fourth-year pro out of Texas A&M, also was fined $10,000 for striking an opponent late on another play.
