The St. Louis Blues advanced to the Western Conference Final and will play the San Jose Sharks or Colorado Avalanche.

St. Louis defeated the Dallas Stars 2-1 in double overtime in Game 7 on Tuesday to end that second-round Stanley Cup Playoff series and advance to the conference final for the first time since 2016 (when it lost to San Jose in six games).

The Sharks and Avalanche will decide that best-of-7 series in Game 7 at San Jose on Wednesday (9 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS).

"It's a grind. That's why it's a grind of the Stanley Cup Playoffs," St. Louis coach Craig Berube said. "It's a lot of work, but it's very rewarding. We're moving on to the third round and we're excited. Guys are ready to roll."

St. Louis, which finished third in the Central Division, would begin the conference final on the road against San Jose, which finished second in the Pacific Division, and would have home-ice advantage against Colorado, which was the second wild card.
