Wednesday’s Spurs/Minnesota game at Mexico City Arena has been canceled thanks to what the NBA is describing as a “generator malfunction,” filling the building with smoke and forcing the evacuation of everyone inside. The game will be replayed at a later date in Minneapolis, the league office announced. Images of the scene were surreal, with thick smoke making it difficult to see the opposite stands during a panoramic shot of the arena on NBA TV. Other footage showed the Spurs, their staff and the rest of the travel party being ushered into a tunnel with bemused and befuddled expressions on their faces.
