It was a familiar outing and postgame conversation for Wandy Rodriguez, who finds March getting awfully late with few innings built up. Never a spring success story, Rodriguez had problems of every variety — hits, walks, defense behind him, footing on the mound — during an 8-2 loss to the New York Mets on Thursday. Last year, Rodriguez said around this time that he didn't feel ready for the season, and now it doesn't sound much better. He lasted only 32/3 innings because he had hit his five-inning target of 80 pitches already.
