Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is getting a national championship ring, but he’s definitely not putting a ring on everyone who was on the team last season. Former quarterback Kelly Bryant left the team midseason after being replaced by Trevor Lawrence and Swinney feels if he didn’t ride with the team, he doesn’t deserve a ring. Others feel Bryant contributed a lot last year before being demoted and should get some recognition for his work with the Tigers.
When you quit a team, you abandon the people who struggled with you to build something special. Kelly Bryant made a commitment to Clemson that he would be there for his team when he signed with the Tigers. Instead, he pouted when he lost his starting job and ran away while the team flourished without him. He doesn’t deserve the honor of being recognized as part of that team if he was too selfish to stick around.
