Japanese baseball star Shohei Otani will have right ankle surgery tomorrow. Otani, who won the Pacific League MVP last year and who is reportedly bound for the United States for the 2018 season, injured his ankle last season during the Japan Series last year, sat out the World Baseball Classic and was limited to 65 NPB games this year. He says he’ll be 100% for next season, however. The two-way threat hit .332 with eight home runs and 31 RBI this season and, as a pitcher, was 3-2 with a 3.20 ERA and 29 strikeouts.
