Cardinals rookie starting pitcher Shelby Miller was forced from his Wednesday night start after just two pitches. He was struck squarely on the right elbow by a line drive off the bat of Dodgers leadoff man Carl Crawford. Miller a right-hander was immediately tended to by manager Mike Matheny and athletic trainers. It didn't take long before the decision was made to remove him with Miller being helped off the field in pain. Miller 22 has enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign to this point. He entered Tuesday 11-7 with a 2.89 ERA 1.13 WHIP and 132 strikeouts in 121 1/3 innings. Once more information as to the severity of Miller's injury we'll pass it along.
