Just last week, there were reports that Sevilla have a keen interest in signing Chelsea wing-back Marcos Alonso, and according to Estadio Deportivo, Sevilla’s football director, Monchi has started formulating a strategy, subject to certain conditions, in order to do just that.

First off, Sevilla are banking on the COVID-19 pandemic keeping other suitors away. While Alonso has been playing a few matches as of late, he’s far from an undisputed starter, and Sevilla could provide that option for him. Of course, the dynamics could change if other clubs get involved, but they are remaining hopeful for now.
