Khaldoon Al Mubarak indicated that Manchester City will allow both Sergio Agueroand Pep Guardiola to decide their own futures at the Etihad Stadium.
City’s record goalscorer and most successful manager in their history are out of contract next summer, with the club undergoing a period of change after the departures of Vincent Kompany and David Silva in consecutive seasons.
Whether that accelerates next year is dependent on decisions taken by Aguero and Guardiola, according to the chairman.
‘Vincent left when he felt it was right for him to leave and the same thing with David. Sergio is going to be the same whether that is this year or the year after,’ Al Mubarak said.
