Fredrik Claesson got the book thrown at him by the National Hockey League on Thursday. The Ottawa Senators’ defenceman received a two-game suspension from the NHL’s department of player safety for his hit to the head of Boston Bruins forward Noel Acciari during Wednesday’s game at TD Garden in Boston. The Bruins won that game 5-1. Claesson, who was thrown out of the game, had never been previously suspended, but the league ruled he went after Acciari’s head.
