Ottawa Senators defenceman Chris Wideman will undergo surgery to repair a torn hamstring, the player announced via Twitter on Friday. Wideman last played on November 16 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, after which he was sidelined with the hamstring injury. It was reported in late November that the rearguard would meet with doctors to determine his future, and it seems surgery is the required option for Wideman.
