New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is widely known to be somewhat secretive and slightly standoffish at times, But he always seems willing to lend a helping hand to a friend and that's exactly what he'll be doing next week. Belichick and the Patriots coaching staff will be welcoming Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano and six members of the Tampa coaching staff to Foxboro, according to Sports Illustrated's Don Banks. Despite the fact that Belichick and Schiano have never actually coached together, the two do have several ties. Belichick's son Steve, who serves as a coaching assistant in New England, was a long snapper at Rutgers in 2011 during Schiano's final season as coach of the Scarlet Knights. The younger Belichick also played lacrosse at Rutgers and Bill Belichick and Schiano would talk to each other whenever Bill was in town to see his son, according to the New York Daily News. The older Belichick obviously likes the way Schiano molds players as New England selected three Rutgers players -- Logan Ryan, Duron Harmon and Steve Beauharnais -- in the 2013 NFL Draft. The Patriots also signed a fourth former Scarlet Knight -- Brandon Jones -- as an undrafted free agent. In all, the Patriots have a total of six players that played college football under Schiano.
