In 140-character dribs and drabs, Pablo Sandoval is keeping everyone apprised of his rehab through Twitter. On Friday he said he took 50 swings with a regular bat left-handed and 25 right-handed. He also is taking grounders and throwing to first and second base. The bigger question of when Sandoval will rejoin the Giants he cannot answer, but manager Bruce Bochy tackled it. "He's getting better," Bochy said. "We're probably looking at a couple of weeks if all goes well and there are no setbacks, which is good news for us." Friday marked three weeks since Sandoval had his fractured right hamate removed. If he returns in time for a home series against Texas, he will have missed five weeks, about 10 days less than last year when he had his left hamate removed. Then the question becomes where he hits. Bochy tackled that, too, saying he has thought about it and might go with Gregor Blanco at leadoff, Angel Pagan second, Melky Cabrera in place of Sandoval third, with Sandoval at cleanup and Buster Posey hitting fifth.
