Lou Lamoriello appeared to work his magic once more. The New York Islanders and defenseman Ryan Pulock have agreed to an 8-year contract extension worth just under $50 million, according to Darren Dreger.

The news comes on the eve of the Islanders season opener in Carolina on Thursday. Pulock is on the final year of a 2-year deal he signed in November of 2020 and would have been an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason.
