Russell Wilson weighed in on the Seattle Seahawks being fined $100,000 by the NFL for violating concussion protocol related to an incident directly involving him, saying, “I guess that’s what they decided to do.” The NFL on Thursday announced the fine, stating in part that a joint review by the NFL and NFLPA determined there “was a failure in the application of the protocol following the tackle of Mr. Wilson.” The incident in question occurred during Seattle’s Nov. 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals. The sequence of events that inspired league review began when Wilson took a vicious hit to the jaw from Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby during a play in the third quarter. Referee Walt Anderson ordered Wilson off the field for a concussion examination, which now includes a visit to a blue tent located on team sidelines. Wilson, however, spent mere moments in the tent and never interacted with medical personnel.
