Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay's partially dislocated left shoulder might be out of operation for the playoffs after undergoing surgery on March 25, but his mouth is fully functional. Here's the first of his diaries, as told to Ron Higgins, that he's filing through the playoffs: "This is going to be competitive series, regardless of what people think. Most people thought we wouldn't even make the playoffs, so we've proved them wrong the whole year. "There's a lot of emotions and there should be. It's the postseason, everybody wants to be here. It feels good for my teammates to still be playing basketball, to be out there happy and getting ready to be in a playoff. I still feel I can help. "Sitting on the bench, I can see things that guys out on the floor sometimes don't see. I can use my basketball I.Q. to see things and help my teammates.
