It's not often you can stump Brewers manager Ron Roenicke with a question about his team but it seemed like I did when I asked him about the catching depth chart behind Jonathan Lucroy and Martin Maldonado. There will be a period during spring training when Lucroy will be playing for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic and Maldonado for Puerto Rico, leaving the Brewers without their top two catchers in camp. So, in an interview session at "Brewers On Deck" on Sunday, I asked Roenicke which catchers were next on the depth chart. "Don't ask me that question because I don't know," said Roenicke. "We've talked about who's coming in to camp that can catch those (exhibition) games. "I'm not worried about being physically capable of catching. I want a guy that's going to be with us to be working with these (pitchers), to get them locked in. To talk about stuff between innings and what they need to work on. If a guy wants to work on his changeup at the beginning of spring training to get ready for the end, I want our catchers to know that.
Ron Roenicke not sure about catching depth
