Roma have joined the race for Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian – but only if the Italian international is allowed to join them on loan. AC Milan and Valencia have registered an interest in taking the right-back away from Old Trafford, but are yet to make a bid, while Juventus are also interested. And that has given encouragement to Roma that they would be able to take the former Torino favourite back to Serie A for the rest of the season on the understanding that they will make the move permanent in the summer. Darmian has been told he is surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho, but United want to make a £4million profit on the £13million they paid Torino in 2015.
