The Rockies, intent on bolstering their bullpen, did so Tuesday and Wednesday with a one-two punch of adding right-hander Bryan Shaw and then agreeing to a deal to retain left-hander Jake McGee. The question: Is there such thing as a one-two-three punch? With a couple of key setup roles settled, Colorado then reportedly was nearing a deal to re-sign free-agent closer Greg Holland, who had 41 saves for them in a bounce-back 2017 season following Tommy John surgery. According to ESPN.com, the Rockies got Shaw, 30, on a three-year deal worth nearly $9 million a season. MLB Network was the first to report McGee, 31, would return to the Rockies, for whom he's pitched the past two seasons, with FanRag Sports reporting it's a three-year deal with a fourth-year option. No terms of the deal were reported.
