Robert Lewandowski has hit out at his former club Bayern Munich, accusing them of lying about why the forward left for Barcelona this summer.

The Poland international made the high-profile move to Barça following months of rumours regarding his future, joining the likes of Raphinha and Jules Kounde as one of the club's big moves this summer.

Speaking to ESPN, Lewandowski has lifted the lid on his Bayern exit and dispelled rumours that he forced a move due to Bayern's interest in Erling Haaland.

"No, that was nothing to do with Erling," he insisted. "I am the guy who even if something's not good for me - truth is more important. I don't want to speak about what happened exactly. But if the question is if the decision to move was because of him, no, I didn't see the problem if he joined Bayern Munich.
