Chicago Bears’ tight end Zach Miller suffered a broken bone in his foot during Sunday’s loss against the New York Giants, which will likely end his 2016 season, according to head coach John Fox. Prior to exiting the game on Sunday, he hauled in three catches for 61 yards and one touchdown. With the announcement coming down earlier in the week that the Bears would be going at it without top wide out Alshon Jeffery, who received a four-game suspension, Miller seemed to be in line to be the beneficiary of increased targets from quarterback Jay Cutler. The two connected for an early touchdown on Sunday – Miller’s first score since Week 4 – but his departure leaves Chicago without many consistent pass catching options. Miller was in the midst of a career-best season, already having established new water marks in catches (47) and receiving yards (486).
