Manager Ozzie Guillen has seen players welcomed back to their former homes and others not so much. He still is befuddled at the reception Cleveland fans gave Jim Thome when we returned to Progressive Field as a member of the White Sox. "It was not too pretty," Guillen said. "That's the best man ever. To me, my favorite player ever is Derek Jeter, on the field and off the field, and this guy is better than Derek. The only thing different is Derek has rings and Thome doesn't have any." If Cleveland fans can boo Thome, it wouldn't surprise Guillen if New York fans boo Jose Reyes, but he's not expecting that. When the Marlins and Mets open a three-game set at Citi Field Tuesday, Guillen hopes Reyes receives the recognition he earned during his time there.
